can i jsut ask why removing lan is an issue? i have scanned with both lan in/out (i'm lazy!) and dont remember any major differences. I assume there is a very good reason why i should remove LAN?
also while im here is anyone else missing sky1. mine we went friday, rescanned etc... and on sunday it came back but didnt work, rescanned again yesterday and it gone again. is this just me or an overall issue?
Roll on the 19th???Why Does Stuff Cost So Much ? And GET OFF MY LAWN.

Simple solution connect the boxes back to back with null modem cable. The box with all channels conected to TV and the box without channels switched off.Hi guys, i have 2 KVA780'S both on a splitter, both have been working fine till server went down, now one is working as it should be, but the other is missing all SS channels and nick etc... even when i rescanned it on the main feed no splitters still the same, latest firmware installed, any ideas? thanks.
On the box conected to TV press
Menu
Installation
Data Download
Channel Data
Send
Switch on recieving box.Comment

i have scanned for channels with my Lan connected and didnt reboot etc etc and when i clicked on Gateshead for my area it found 42 frequencies and searched amongst 53 Transponders . Curiosity got to me as it has done with you and so i scanned for channels with the Lan not connected and did a factory reset and deleted all channels aswell. The results were much better as it found 57 frequencies and then searched among 63 transponders this time ! Therefore as you mentioned the Lan being connected during the scan for channels must weaken or interfere with the strength of the scanning frequencies , resulting in finding less channels . Thats why so many people on here say they have lost channels etc . I hope this helps to answer your question and let it be a guide to everyone else out there especially the NEWBIES !Comment

[QUOTE=mentorman;1092034]Hello careless ,
i have scanned for channels with my Lan..........................
thankyou, i did notice extra search's as mine did go up to 63 one time, but even with lan it flips between 53 and 57.
strange why? as i would guess the searching is more to do with cable sig that interweb stuff...
oh well best get off my lazy ass and remove it when scanning.

sorry meant sky1 as in simpsons/Futurama/Oops tv (skyone) etc channel, not sky sports 123. they all fine 4 me too. as do all that are on ex this one.
skyone worked the otherday. dissappeared from list now back but not working. does say no or bad signal? any ideas? i did read on anon site that it had had a sig/freq change, as it had gone on sv also. but dont have 1 so cannot confirm.
wasnt sure if skyone was back off again until the BIG fix.?
edit...and in an instant it now back to scram no vid. not no or bad signal but still bug-all ,,odd.Last edited by careless1979; 10 May, 2011, 19:28.Why Does Stuff Cost So Much ? And GET OFF MY LAWN.

still been having the same problem with box 2,done the channell data transfer last night, no splitters etc..., all channels working great, takes it back into sons room hooks up to his lan and BB cable not a channel, the BB cable is 15 m long and has been in for a couple of years running a starview before the KV, the only thing that has changed is that i laminated the hall floor over the 15m LAN cable, not doing any damage that i am aware of, does anyone think a new LAN cable could solve the problem or is it more likely the BB cable at fault, i have already renewed the splitter with a maplins one, thanks for reading...Comment
