K780 signal / Net Supplier Questions

    Hi everyone.

First of all thanks for the help over the last few months on updates etc with K780. People like Gadget Fiend, LagerLand, and loads others have kept everyone informed as best as possible.

Anyway. I have K780 and very happy with it. Today I finally had enough of Virmin taking 35pounds from my account for just more or less internet only. So I told them to disconnect me.

I didn?t mind paying a sub and have been paying Virmin sub for sometime but recent increase have just annoyed me.

I was just wondering with my Virmin being disconnected will my quality of signal be decreased by Virmin (I have read this somewhere that they have done this) therefore affecting my signal into my house?

AND do you think they will actually disconnect my TV from the mains and completely stop a feed coming into my house? I rather not have this happen

Finally any suggestions on other net suppliers? Cheap / fast /

    Cheers in advance

you stop paying and they may reduce your signal or worse cut you off, when cut off kryptview stops also,so no cable means sat box with sly or maybe a blade box with c/s [ google ]and then you need a sat dish and cables for it to work

Be very surprised if they cut you off tbh as they dont have staff for trivial jobs like this currently as they're sending guys to different parts of the country for weeks at a time to fill the workload, not to say it will never happen though. As for reducing signal well i havent heard of anyone doing this in any areas and it wouldnt make practical sense as if people ever wanted to go back to them it just a matter of posting equipment out to them if they ~~~~ed around with signal levels it means sending out techs too.

let me get this right guys, are you saying if I cancel my sub for broadband and tv from vermin. That the feed will still give me broadband when they do away with my services? I thought broadband stopped when the service stops.

if you done away with vm services then you would need another broadband provider or a dodgy vm modem.

                  Thanks Guys

hmm.dodgy VM modem..get better and better.

I though the same as Gary. Stop the services but TV will remain but BB cut off. Seems like we can continue with BB with dodgy VM modem. Am not going down that route though.

OK, I'm still weighing up if i really want to cancel VM. Hoping they will call me and offer me something better as i enjoy the fast BB.

Well least i know now that if i do cancel i have a good chance of keeping my feed for the TV. I can continue with KV then.

anyone else cancel from VM and still maintain VM TV signal

                  Thanks

                    tv package

just to clear up my end, i took the broadband/phone/ and small tv package, the came and put the cables in and set it up. you have a 7 day cancel policy on your package, i kept the broadband and phone line but i cut the tv part off the package, so i now pay for broadband/phone. and run the kv thru their cables, hope that helps. toodaloo
