KV A780 Can't Upload Image/Upgrade New Box- Help needed

hello guys,

1) I connect my STB with computer using USB null cable.

download STB editor

Download the Image file from this website.

when i try to upload the Image file, it says


( Download Is Not Requested ).

what i am doing wrong?

2) try to download something from STB to PC.

Same error message.

3) I shitch the STB off from plug,then When i click on start to upload Image to box, I plug the STB back on.

but still same error message.

any idea?


I bought this box brand new online, the funny thing is it has no option under installation to ( S/W update ). which I had in my old box which burn due to electric shock.

the cable you got with the box could be faulty.mine was and had same problems as yourself.get a new cable from maplins.

make sure its a null cable

if its a usb to searal adapter check to c what comport it running on select it in the kv loader press start and turn on box at the same time

Guys dont waste your time on the cable sent with STB.

simply buy a NULL MODEM Cable from maplin.

after that it will take only 3 mints to update. I just update it right now and its working like rocket.

when you say back on,it may have an old non working firmware
which needs a s/w upgrade.

Latest firmware is 24/04/2011.

no its a s/w done by remote only as it means firmware does not have to be posted everywhere.your firmware on box has the means to s/w upgrade and while this is been done dont touch anything until box reboots.
factory reset and rescan from direct feed and lan cable removed,when channels are loaded insert lan,exit out and power off at rear box modem and router for 30 secs then on

Hello there ,
do a factory reset on the box and then try again the S/W update in the installation menu ! Make sure you have a connection to the internet as the S/W update is done via the connection . If all else fails try uploading the 03/01/11 firmware again via the NULL modem cable then do a Factory reset. Check your internet connections are good then try to upload the S/W update via the menu again . The only other alternative would be to borrow someone else's box that has been updated and join both boxes together to transfer the data across ok . mentorman !
