Anyone else's box freezing?

I bought a box on decemeber it's worked fine up until the last couple of month I got told it was because the servers got raided ..... I just flashed my box with the April software sky sports channels come on but it's not watchable, a few of the movie channels work fine, just wondering if anyone else has this problem ? Just wanting to know if it's my box that's faulty or it's the servers ? Thanks

Hi there , everybody was having freezing and stuttering problems until a couple of weeks ago. We then got a few more channels back and finally everything settled down again and channels are more watchable now. It sounds to me like you need to do a rescan with the Lan cble left out of your box and make sure you have the right Net-iD for your area . Then do a factory default on the box ! Place the lan back into the box and reboot the Router and Modem etc and hopefully that should clear your problem ok !

Thanks I'll try that but I think my LAN port on my box is faulty, is it meant to flash or stay orange ?

Ive tried everything I've rescanned, chose the correct netID, I'm scanning with the Ethernet cable out, I've rebooted the modem and router, i updated it to the April 2011 software today it used to work perfect when I got it in December until the boxes went down and it's never worked properly since

what is your signal and quality like as a bad signal will cause a freeze and glitch

When I'm scanning the signals 57 I think, I'm not sure of the quality but I never had one bit of bother in December when I got the box and it's still all the same setup, same Internet (virgin media) same speed and via router can u improve ur signal in anyway then ? Also when I done a re-scan today with Ethernet out I never picked up all channels sky sports 2 is missing and 3-4 movie channels are missing sky sports 4 works perfect sky sports 1 is not watchable, sky premier and sky premier + 1 also work perfect

Sounds like a weak signal problem ! R U downloading torrents at the same time by any chance as this can effect things aswell !

Na not downloading anything my computers hardly on but when the box was running smoothly when I got it I was downloading films via (torrents) and it still did no affect my box in any way, weak signal as in the Ethernet or the actual cable the White one ? Could it maybe be a faulty LAN port on the box ? I've tried switching ethernet cables and it's not that

Thanks mate u mentioned it could be a signal problem so I went downstairs and turned the legit box off by the mains then came upstairs and done a factory restore scanned again and now i get every channel and it's running smooth as anything, i never had to do this but is there anything you can buy to boost the signal so I can have both boxes running ?

Sometimes you lose signal strength because of the length of your white cable coming from the main inlet and if you make your own F Connector joints make sure it is screwed on tight and a good connection is made whereas none of the outside wire is touching the centre core wire. You can buy a signal booster to tweak it a little but if you try and turn it up to a high boost strength it gets worse ! These boosters come in all forms and sizes and strength ranges and obviously price too. Just buy a standard cheaper one from Fleabay ok .
