A780 online software update

I used to have a phone line with a broadband connection. Whenever I checked for software updates or weather/traffic info on my KVA780 it worked really well.(Cambridge)
I've sinced moved area (Manchester) and only have a V***fonemobile broadband connection through my TPLink USB router and dongle. I'm getting nearly 2Mb d/l speed but the update software menu page just sits at searching O% and the weather/traffic returns no info.
I was happily watching all the channels until they went down yesterday, so I know I was connected to the KV server.

Does anybody know or have any ideas why I cannot connect to the d/l server?

I'm reasonably computer literate so am happy setting IP addresses, DNS settings and Firewalls etc if anyone can think of things to try.

dont worry you are not alone.

I also have TPlink router with Vodafone USB modem, I cant connect the a780 directly to the internet but i can watch channels before the bigbang happend yesterday 9:00PM z

so sit relaxed, whenever there will be any update, will be here on this website.

Note: if there is any update come for the box, download it on your pc/laptop and try to update using null modem cable, bcoz box wont be able to connect to the update server. I tried it in many ways.

there is some problem with TPlink wirewall wich dont let the update server connect to the box. even if you disable the wirewall the problem remain the same.


Good thing about TPlink router is , that you can put any sim in your USB modem to connect to the internet, the USB modem dont need to be unlocked on this router.

must be somit wrong with their card readers i rekon,
