Flashing problems KV 780

Help! I have saved the firmware to my PC and am using the correct cables according to the tutorial but everytime I try to download the firmware it comes up download failed. I have done a factory reset but when I go into S/W update nothing seems to happen. I am a novice at this so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

do u have box turned off at switch at the back of the box then when u press download turn it on at the back, if that fails must be ur cables.

Thanks for responding. Tried your suggestion but still saying download failed. Maybe it is the cables but they have only been used once when I first received the box 12 months ago. Just trying to update it since all went down recently.

first thing to do is check system info it should be 24042011,recently??how long is that,maybe all your box needs is a rescan on correct net id from direct main coaxial feed no splitters and lan cable removed,insert lan after your channels have loaded then power off at rear box modem and router for 30 secs then on.
