kv set up problems

hi guys a friend of mine has just purchased 2 kv 780s he has done all the usual set up instructions but only free to air channels working also there is no software update showing only software send and data send will this mean the box has to be flashed first using a pc any help apreciated

The box needs to be flashed. The software on the box is FTA only

does he just follow instructions from the Kryptview Firmware Loading Guide / Tutorial.

Yeah moreorless may be old s/w but he can update it when he's got it going over the internet

best if box is flashed with a null modem cable and pc with xp and a serial port .

yes all boxes should be updated
