i flashed a new box then updated by remote to the 29/11/2011 software, but when i scan for channels it keeps saying already exists and does not give me my tp list? i have got my own box that works fine but when i plug this in i cant seem to find channels??

You don't need internet connected to scan. It does give that problem when you do not have a signal, but I guess if you have another box there that works, that the cable is OK.

I would try doing a box to box software update from the good box to the bad box in case it's a bad flash. A box-to-box flash is usually better than a PC-to-box flash.

why dont you just flash it via box to box...
think as the boxes as master and slave the master box is the working one leave the master box switched on and connect via rs232 and leave the slave switched off..go into menu go into installation go into data download then hightlight data transfer then press ok....
then switch the slave box on then it should transfer (update) the do the same for channel tranfer (tuning)..
after doing this the slave box will be itentical to the master box
