setting up kv in extension, useing home plugs for internet to kv and router. outside wall where cable enters house there is a double connection ,one goes into house the other one i was connecting a cable to run to the kv box in extension. will this work and do you think i would lose signal power because i have split cable . cheers

Yes will work ok but your mains supply on your extension will probably have a new mains ring ,homeplugs only work on the same mains ring that the router is on

normally the extention will get powered from the fuse box ie new ring cant see new wireing being connectted to existing ring unless its just one room wont do any harm to try

do you have 2 kv boxes 1 in house and 1 in the extension? if not you could try putting moden and wireless router with splitter in the extension and connect to pc in the house through wireless
