connect kryptview through a laptop

i want to connect my kryptview through my macbook then use macbooks wireless connection to get channels i am using my macbook on a mobile wifi hotspot as i am staying at a friends whilst my house is being sorted theres cable connection but no bb. i know i can buy a 3g router and will if this doesnt work.

i know i can set up internet sharing ect and use a crossover cable not ethernet,when i link my laptop to kryptview it doesnt work.
does this mean i have to get router or is there something i am not doing rite?

not 100% sure but would say kv needs its own lan port to work properly,severe glitching may happen

It could potentially be made work but you'll need to research setting up the Macbook for internet connection sharing or use a program that will specifically mimic a router device and 'bridge' the ethernet port to the WiFi

The performance of the WiFi hotspot will also be significant in determining how sucessful the process is. Although cardsharing is very low bandwidth its also very time critical and usually requires a response to queries in a couple hundred milliseconds. Any hotspot that delays your request longer than that may be problematical.

Also note that many hotspots open only certain commonly used internet ports (web, email etc) so you may be blocked at the first hurdle.

i can confirm this works 100% through wifi hotspot on my blackberry 9900. what i did was to download the blackberry desktop to get the drivers,turned on my wifi hotspot plugged phone in via usb went to network connections and bridged connections with wifi/ethernet bingo kryptview starts running,i have an all you can eat data plan on my sim from 3 so no worries on the data side of things ,it works absolutely flawlessly been on all day with no glitching.my windows version is vista ultimate..still got to try this on my mac..
