I can't say too much publicly without getting into trouble hence the pms.

I could opt to say nothing at all and keeps you all guessing but i'm not like that, so I'm posting as much info as I can without upsetting anyone and crossing the boundary.

I am not a trader by any means and the slapping of wrists I refer to was not by anyone on this or any other forum. I know there is wealth of knowledge on this forum and I am fully aware of the rules. If you feel that I have crossed the line, then please forgive me but people are after information regarding this box and I am trying to reveal as much as I can without upsetting anyone in the process as previously stated.
Yes, there is a lan port, 2 usb slots and as far as I work out, a SINGLE tuner.

specs are a bit hazy when they say twin tuners but only 1 input but duel function

the box talked about has a single tuner only one input and can only record what you watch ,the twin tuner bit came from a guy selling on internet who described the tuner as twin

Need set-up instructions for the Kryptview A850

I just bought one of these boxes for a friend and we have been trying for the last 2 or 3 days to get it going without much success. The user manual tells you very little about setting up the box to receive cable channels. I complained to the seller and he sent me a file that I had to mount into a USB memory stick and scan this into the box with the USB memory stick plugged into the USB slot at the back. Still not sure that we have done this correctly as we can only find about 15 or 20 channels but these are all pay per view channels and are encrypted. What puzzles us is that when we connect the HDMI cable from the back of the box to the TV the signal keeps dropping in and out. As pensioners the loss of ?260 will be a difficult pill to swallow. Has ANYONE written a clear and concise methodology on how to set up one of these boxes, for newbie's to this dark art ? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

As for the firmware its put on with a usb pen as below

format pen drive to fat32
put file on pen drive
turn power to box off
put pen drive into box
switch power back on
Quick flash on the screen will appear then screen goes blank
box boot's up again you need to get into menu and select Software Upgrade
press ok then your firmware will appear on screen
just press the ok button again
after the box reboots again it will ask for Cable scanning and after that its just like the old box.

I see the box has a 7 day EPG and two USB ports, so does it have PVR capability ?
