Hi, Ive just spent a good couple of hours trying to update using the loading instructions in download section, and for some reason, despite the fact that its always worked for me, it just wouldnt go this time.
So I spent ages searching google for answers, and stumbled across alternative instructions, which worked instantly for me!
Make sure before you start you check what COM port your RS232 is on:
1)go to control panel
2)hardware
3)device manager
4)Ports (COM & LPT)
5)Double click on the adapter
6)Click Port Settings
7)Click Advanced
8)Under COM port, change to no. 3
Here we go:
1.Connect STB to PC by null cable/usb to rs232 adapter
2.Start up STB editor/kryptview loader
3.Click on tools
4.Goto code
5.Click on send
6.Click on open
7.Click on the firmware file from your PC
8.Make sure you are on the right com (COM3 if you followed as above, or whatever your setting is otherwise) & FTA MODEL
9.Turn off your STB by the plug
10. Click on start and then turn on STB by plug and it will start to send the data to the STB
11. Wait untill the download is complete and STB will turn back on
Done! Then just follow the usual for re-searching channels.
Thought id just put this up in case anyone else has problems with updating their box.

Hope it helps! Dan
Have tried all that got a bit further than usual but says 'The download is not requested'
if using laptop it maybe cos you selected wrong comport, if you dont want to change the settings on pc then start at 1 then go up 1 at a time and one will work. if using desktop it maybe cos you have got a serial cable and not a null cable, or it could be you havnt switched box off then pressed start on loader then switched box on to start the download
@ jessii and @ nicho123 unless its the same person with 2 registrations, If using laptop you should have 2 cables an rs 232 usb to 9 pin male serial adapter cable and an rs232 9 pin female to 9 pin female null modem cable joined together, check the packaging it came in. however if using vista when you plug in usb in it would normally install the driver for it to work but if xp you may have to install the driver from either the disc that came with the cable or http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...maplins+driver here when you have that you should be good to go. if using a desktop you only need the rs232 9 pin female to 9 pin female null cable. moral of the story is beg, borrow or steal a desk top they are easier but having said that i mainly use lappy with the driver installed. hope this gets you up and running
