good guess by me tho, begining to really think that your rs232 from maplins is serial cable and not a NULL. do you by any chance have the packaging you will not be able to tell any other way as they look the same but are wired differently inside. either that or your comport settings not correct did you try my earlier suggestion of starting at comport 1 and increasing 1 at a time till you find one that works i know it a pain but you may not have to go far up the order till you have success...... just tried on mine the only time i could get it to say file not reqested was when i didnt turn box back on quickly enuff, try leaving the box off till you got loader ready to go press start then count to 2 then switch box on that works every time for me

yea thats the one i have so why isnt it working doing me head in now. i am using the right com port in device manger is says prolific usb-to-serial Comm port (COM6)
so am using com 6, but still it wont download!
I have tryed everything and i just dont no why it wont work

Nah dont do that you'll miss all 2nites telly keep on with it someone will get you going. this my last roll of the dice m8 before i switch puter off when we say box off we do mean power off altogether at the mains and not on standby offComment
