problem connecting usb - serial adaptor

dell inspiron 3100 running windows xp trying to connect the addaptor its just coming up in device manager in other devices ive tryed to install a few diffrent drivers but non of them are working. any ideas ? thanks

Do you not have the driver that came with the device it wont work with out it.Or buy another one i think i picked mine up for a tenner.Or post the make of it and see if anyone has it and can let you have it......................

pity there is no rs232 port as that would be better.

thanks for the help i managed to get it working on a different laptop in the end, but now its up and running im gettin alot of glitchs an channels going down with scrambled or no video signal, esspecially the sky sports any ideas of the cause ? the signal is good saying its at 93.

Its just how it is m8 you have to live with it or move on....................
