    Sheffield Glitches?

    Hello,

Thanks for helping me get passed the flashing stage. I've got my box up and running; in the Sheffield area, but am experiencing some severe glitchiness and lack of picture. Also getting the "scrambled" message a lot.

I have flashed with the 24\03\2011 Firmware and selected the 860(?) MhZ option on the network scan mode.

Can someone advise me on the optimum setting for channel scanning in this area?

Also, is there a way of saving your favourites, so if you have to restore to factory defaults you don't have to manually enter them time and time again? Or are there downloadable favourites files out there? I noticed it was possible to view favourites when connected to the null modem cable at the flashing stage.

    CHEERS!

for a start you are on the wrong firmware, you will need to update it with the remote,menu-s/w update let it download and reboot then factory reset and rescan from main feed.

      have done the s/w update...

cheers cactikid; i have gone through the s/w update. also managed to get loads of channels so i'm assuming i did it right. i think perhaps the glitchiness is just the way it is, judging by others posts. would still like clarification over what setting is best for Sheffield i.e. 860hZ or 600hZ [and] what the difference between the two is...?

      kind regards.

try one, then factory reset, rescan and try another if you wish as there is no harm to see if one gives better service.

no it is illegal to sell them with the s/w you are talking about and after you have bought it there are no subs but it is up to you if you install s/w

finding one to buy will be hardest bit because they are still working.
