searching new updates

Last night I had all channels with a bit of glitching and a scan worked of 70 something transponders, now the scan takes about 5 seconds off 8 transponders total, done factory reset, still the same , now trying to search new update but seems to taking for ever as if it's frozen, on sub menu at bottom of page, I can't do anything other than exit and that goes out with a loud crack noise, running a kryptveiw A780, any ideas and thanks in advance.

Are you scanning the correct network id m8...............

If there is an update someone lets you know on here usually.....................

Since today I seem to have only 8 tp's were as yesterday I had over 70, the box doesn't give me the choice I used to be able to pick Belfast from Ntl but now it goes straight to the scan without that option, this is the Frequency # 6.887 and 64 QAM whatever that is, the signal strength is roughly 77-82, it's upstairs at the moment on a split, will take it down and try on main feed, oddly enough our internet service went down this morning, they were sending an engineer out but phoned later to cancel as they said it was a fault outside, but it hasn't worked from it.still upstairs, now my box goes to easy installation and I can't get out of it I do an automatic search, it does it then goes back to easy installation, I go to menu try to update, hit exit to see channels the scan brought up but goes back to easy installation, doing my head in, sorry about this!

Have tried it downstairs on main feed but still the same, not even getting free to air, found that Net id, it only came up with one and that's Belfast, it was going through some motions, 1-2-3 already exists and so on, honestly think vm has done something or other.

maybe you could try flashing with the fta file and try updateing then rescanning

for a start tell us what firmware is on box.and net ids are changing,if you have a vm box get it off that.

Cactikid on my box is Software Version K/veiw A780 pv4.1.01, H/W Version v3.0.0 26/04/2012, I've a tivo box how would I get it off that?
Geordle I've downloaded the fta firmware but it's been 2 yrs since I first flashed it, I'll have to read up a bit and try that

you are on the latest firmware,first i would check if vm had outside problems,i would do a factory reset first,have box connected to main feed coaxial and remove lan at rearscan your provider and unless you know 100% you may have to go through the net ids one by one to find yours,remember to insert lan and reboot network if needed.

I seem to have got part of it sorted, I reset to factory, auto search, next page, ntl then down to channels, I was selecting "all"were I should have selected "network", then Belfast came up plus it was doing that 1-2-3 already exists, it was saying please wait but I pushed the up on remote till it highlighted CH 00021 Belfast and hit ok and it started search 56 tp's, got the channels back and tried a movie channel it came on briefly then went scrambled and all the rest are the same but I've got FTA now anyhow, sorry for messing you's around. Will keep trying.

I think paranoia was setting in, coincidence that my internet was down this morning, when it came back on this all happened, just don't know, thanks to Cactikid & Geordle for responding.

the problem can be getting people to listen and to use the you tube videos,glad your sorted m8.
