    Cables and splitters

Is there a preferable splitter or are all splitters the same? And the copper wire in coax is it best it stands proud of the connector. And can I get a booster of some sort. I'm concerned it is causing a bit glitching on some of my channels.

I'm having some issues with channels on lower frequencies so I think I have a lowish signal. To combat this I was looking at good quality splitters and cables.

What you want in a splitter is something in the same frequency range as the vermin one (5 - 1000mhz) and with the lowest loss figures. It generally seems you get what you pay for.

In terms of cables you can go mad and get gold plated ones which again seem to offer better picture quality. Not sure about the copper wire I would have thought it should be just proud of the connector.

Was looking at a Konig signal amplifier which seems to have worked for some people. Might give it a try can get them from a well known auction site.

For info I'm on correct net id and latest firmware. Also A850

You need to get it from your subbed box or from someone else in the same area if your BB only. I got mine off my folks box who live round the corner.

When you did a scan you would have selected your provider and then a net id.

eg I selected Telewest and then 90984 Uddingston because 90984 was the net ID for my area.

That's why you need the correct one for your area.

another point is to check for vm faults in areas as that can give problems also, you could try another area, factory reset and rescan, things are changing.

My friend and I have same boxes in the same area. My friends is far more glitchy than mine and his splitter is 5 to 1000 MHz and mine is 5 to 2500 MHz. Can I up this rate.

Any other area would be quite away away.
