    kryptview A780 No channels

    Hi all,
just finished doing the loft out and went to re-install my Kryptview it must have been of 12-14 months. Connected up and updated from the kryptview server but cant get any of the chanels back. I think I remember something like the QAM value changing on the starviews and wondered if this is the same?

as cactikid says latest firmware is 11/11/2012 on remote press menu/installation/sw update, then factory reset and rescan. Virmin have been changing id's recently so yours may have changed since you last set it up

          STILL no channels

          thanks for the replies.
          box updated to 11112012
          still not finding any channels
is the 6.887 symbol rate and QAM 64 still valid.
I'm definately still connected physically as one of the disney channels were on after I updated but before I rescanned.

          any more ideas

          regards

has your provider changed and do you have a live cable feed

if you've got a vm subbed box or a neighbour or someone you know locally has, you can get the id off that

That's probably ok where you are.

He doesn't want most channels, he wants all available.

if you scan on ntl what do you get?if you scan on c&w what do you get, when you scan on correct provider it should bring up a list of net ids to choose from,if you can get the info from a vm box very near to you it will give you more info to use.

all good advice.. we were sitting this morning when two vermin vans pulled up across the road and working in the street. Once they'd gone I tried again and bingo ! channels !
I do seem to be missing a lot of channels though both FTA and vermin, the only movie channels I'm getting are HD one's which I obviously cant watch on a kryptview.
Can i boost the signal? anyone got any recommendations of signal amplifiers?

                          regards

as cactikid says also try scanning without any splitters etc, close to where the cable enters the property
