k780 firmware

i recently purchased a k780 kryptview and didnt flash it , i just switched it on and scanned and everything came on . I also checked for sw update and it said already updated . i did a rescan yesterday and it now says already exists , i have defaulted the box . Should i have flashed the box from day 1 ? Thanks
