somebody else posted same channel problem and others ok,maybe try a factory reset/rescan from direct feed and reboot network when finished.
even a ?20,000 merc breaks down and needs repairs but it costs the owner money.
when the kv breaks down only paying you do is loss of viewing.Comment

Waste of space
The 850 is a waste of space, loads of glitching problems and more annoying is the sound scrambles and have to reboot box.
So sick of it that I am selling it! Had the old box for nearly two years with the minor glitching and scrambling but the 850 is a pain more times than not.
Have tried attuenator -10 and -20 but makes no difference. Cable is OK and signal good. Had vermin engineer check it.
Would not advise getting one of these units problems sorted. Might just be the area so for reference I am on Mancheter 3 ex cable and wireless.Comment

Firmware ok, rebooted, scanned, changed cables you name it I have done it!
Have had a couple of days when no problems which suggests box is fine, problems seem to concentrate on +1 channels and HD
Might just be this area?Comment

I have had the A780 running at the same time that is also very glitchy at the moment, but all I get is a brief scrambled or a tiny glitch. Still totally watchable.
As it happens Iwas watching faulty towers on bbc2 on The 780 and it had a slight glitch just enough to break picture for a second. The 850 is on down stairs and the sound scrambled.
The HD boxes must be affected by bad signal or signal changes more than the 780s, I would go as far as saying they are cr*p boxes.Comment

the 850 does seem to have issues but what people have to remember is the fact that its a new box just came on the scene and i would say in the not to distant future the will proberbly be a sw update that vastly improves the box and you wont need an attenuator..
so i think people need to be a bit more patient as im sure things will gradually improve.
a lot of new electronic items that are released have major common problems.
so i wouldnt think anyone has been shortchanged.
maybe judge the box after 6 months or soComment

If it was just an odd glitching problem I would agree with you, but the box (mine anyway) is not watchable and before the loons jump all over me and say pay for vermin, it's not even any good as a freeview box!!the 850 does seem to have issues but what people have to remember is the fact that its a new box just came on the scene and i would say in the not to distant future the will proberbly be a sw update that vastly improves the box and you wont need an attenuator..

In the real world an electronic item thats released with major common problems is classed as "not fit for purpose" and the manafacturer fixes the problem rapidly.
My guess is that the circumstances these boxes are sold under, make it difficult to do much about it and therefore no rush to fix the problem. I am sure it will all be sorted soon but a ?240 door stop is quite annoying. The people not having the problem have no idea how bad it is and are under the impression it's a slight glitching problem. The problem is worse than that, its an un watchable box.
The consolation is, its not just me, and in a strange way it makes me feel better.
FLYIN - I will give your suggestion a try, thanks for sharing.Last edited by Dollarbill1964; 20 January, 2013, 23:10.Comment
