Hi, does anyone have any idea when the updating service will be back on? having a problem putting the latest firmware on, thanks.

Thanks for that, can't flash the box at the moment though, as my null modem to usb adapter is not working, and i don't have access to a computer with a 9 pin on it, was just trying to update online, but its not working.

this is the only way to flash your box m8, i had the same problem since last week.

go find somebody with an old pc tower and xp as they normally have a serial/rs232 port you need and get a null modem cable and when you do.

hi there if you know someone with a box that has been updated online! you can update your box by joining them together using your null modem cable and doing a data upload in the installation menu and channel upload too !

any old dell laptops around as they had serial ports.

whats broken or not working with it maybe no drivers for usb adapter?

The problem is that i havn't kept it up to date lately as i wasn't using it, i did flash it when i got it with the usb adapter on the null modem cable and kept it up to date online until i stopped using it, now i can't get that cable to work while trying to put the latest firmware on it, so was trying the online update but thats off at the moment, i have no access to a 9 pin computer, and don't know anyone with this box in my area, will have to get a new cable or wait for the online update to work, sorry to ramble on but it is frustrating. forgot to add that i have downloaded drivers.

if you flashed the box originally with the usb method,you can still use the new file and flash again ,did you follow hitecks guide for flashing,box has to be powered off at rear first then press download and power on box ??

i have followed hitecks very good guide, it just keeps coming up with a box saying can't open serial port and please check parameters, i did that and its all fine,
