    Kryptview A780 Problem.

Hi, firstly can I just say I am a bit of a noob and don`t fully understand the kryptview but I have done a lot of reading and have fixed a few problems Ive had by myself. the problem Im having now I just cant solve, so please believe me that I have tried before posting.

Just recently bought a Kryptview A780 after being without a Cable box since Nagra3 came into action (had a starview PVR).

I believe I have the latest firmware flashed as my system info reads :

    11/11/2012
    Kryptview A780 pv4.105
    v3.0.0

I found my network ID from my tivo box and then I matched it to one on the Kryptview which brought as far as I can see, all channels available and had put them all in order.

My problem is glitching. Its happening approx every 30-40 seconds, its only a 1 second glitch but its so often and it makes a horrible noise that its really unwatchable. This is on all channels and sometimes it even says "scrambled or no video" for a few seconds.

    My setup is :

Cable from box on the wall to a 2 way splitter. Then 1 cable to my Super hub and 1 cable to my Kryptview. I`m on 30mb broadband and have tried it with nothing else running i.e. streaming or downloading. Nothing improves it.

I have no problems with my tivo, laptop or xbox 360 when it comes to viewing, downloading, xbox live or streaming.

When I was searching for the channels, I remember my signal strength being 77 but every so often spiking to 86 and then down to 52 and then back to 77. When I change channel the "S" bar is always 77 and the "Q" bar is 86.

Any suggestions that i could try would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

sounds like the useless superhub again,it needs the wifi switched off on it and if you need a wifi add a wifi router, there is a post somewhere around here.

thanks to kilo90 for this info.

Ok since I last posted I decided to switch my not so super hub into modem mode(WiFi off) and connected to the hub a netgear dual band wireless N router brought off eBay for 35quid.
Then connected my kV 780 to the new router. After using this method for over a week I have seen a vast improvement I rarely get a scrambled message with loss of picture. And channels that were previously terrible are watchable again as at worst the picture will freeze every 5mins or so for 2secs with the sound continuing then picture resumes.
I know this may not work for every but if ur still struggling with bad reliability buying a decent 300m wireless N router for 20quid and using this method I highly recommend.
At worst if this method doesn't improve ur viewing you'll have better WiFi range as in my case and many others the super hubs wireless signal was poor.

      Cheers for the reply mate.

Ive tried turning the Wifi off on my superhub and it hasnt made any difference. Ive tried rebooting the kryptview and the superhub also, but still no joy.

      UPDATE:

After more reading Ive tried replacing the ethernet cable and the scart cable and still no luck. I have also noticed that the FTA channels do not glitch at all.

I`m thinking maybe an "attenuator"?? I dont really want to be spending money if its not going to be that but I suppose its only a couple of pound. Should I? Do you think it could need that?

different areas different signal strength, nothing is the same and remember bb signal can be lower than your tv package or other way round, yes plenty of posts saying problem but is it kv or provider issue.

I was told by a member of another site that the problem had been addressed and Ive now just turned on to Sky 1, which has been the worst for glitching by far and I`m glitch free!

                      thanks for the comments

                      fingers crossed its sorted.

                      Cheers

Thought Id post back. My glitching is still happening regular and is really annoying.

I think im gonna throw the kryptview back on ebay. I think ive tried everything now and nothing has fixed it.

Is their any other boxes other than kryptview available?

                        Cheers

what setup have you got ,lets try to fix it first, what date is your firmware, correct net id 100% sure, splitters, rebooted network etc.

if you cant get it fixed the sat is your next step.

Thanks for your help, I would love to get it sorted.

                            My setup.

Coax from outside box > 2 Way Splitter > Coax from splitter to kryptview > coax from splitter to Superhub > ethernet from superhub to kryptview.

I went into the settings on my vergin tivo box to get my netID.

Im on the latest firmware and I have 30mb fibre optic broadband. My signal strength is around 77.

                            Things ive tried:

                            Superhub wifi off
                            Different coax cables
                            Different ethernet cable
                            Different Scart cable
                            An attenuator
                            Factory reset
                            Rebooting superhub and kryptview

                            Cheers
