Background noise with two way splitter ! Please help

    Hi everyone,
Very recently just moved in new place and ordered a broadband with VM but the person who installed the broadband only put one split not two way splitter. I went to buy two different splitters but the noise in the background remains the same.

The original (Technetfix: Model: TRIS-1002L ) works great if I connect the only plus cable with kryptview box I need a two way splitter for sure don't I ?
    1) for the broadband
    2) for the kryptview box

Please help, this thing is driving my mad?

you would need a splitter from coaxial cable ,one side going to kv and other side going to router for your lan.

i DON'T think its the cable though because it works fine with its original splitter!

Here is a image of the Original VM splitter modified:

...and here is the new two way splitter I bought:

Any idea why the new two way splitter is giving me this noise problem?
      Thank you.

How has the original filter been modified?

I'm surprised it works at all!

What do you mean by "noise in the background"?

''modified'' I meant = to be able to connect one wire from kryptview box to the same cable where output broadband cable is. (refer to image 1)
Regarding Background noise = its just like having your kryptview receiver close to a High voltage fuse box. Thats what it sounds like. (But it doesnt do that when is connected with its original virgin one way splitter)

This is very strange and I never have experience this issue before with any receivers.

badly wired bloody hell,do it properly coaxial and sat cables have a purpose its called shielding to stop funny things from happening, and with bad connections like those surprised something has not gone bang.use proper f connector cable from splitter to kv and from your router a lan cable to rear of 780,single wire does not work fine as it is needed from the box as boxes usually have no earth wire and uses the sat or cable outer to ground.
think sparks called it a floating earth

it wasn't me did the bad wiring but the vm man. I just did a temporary fix until I find the right splitter.
Having said that I think it might be the two way splitter MGH: Instead of 5-2450 MGH splitter it should be 5-1000 MHz

I bough one online already with the specification of 5-1000 MHz and can't wait to arrive and to try it on?

Will let you know the out =come though as soon as I know of course.

The VM man obviously hasn't got a clue what he's doing!

I doubt that the new splitter will be any different to the old one. The higher upper frequency of the one you already have makes it useable for satellite as well, but they should both work on cable.

Just to get back to the background noise again. Is it like a mains hum that you can hear? (50 Hz). Can't say that I've ever come across this in digital equipment.

its hard to tell where the background noise come from but its definitely to do with splitters. I will wait and see if this new two splitter will fix the problem if not then I don't know what else I can do Because my vm package only includes 'phone & broadband only' NO tv.

Well it might look like very bad but its all working though apart from not having the right splitter.
