    KV A780 STB Viewing Problem

    1) Create a folder containing a) the download tool b) the official kv software c) the firmware released in November 2012
    2) Delete all channels via the user preference menu 3) reset the stb to factory default via the installation menu 4) flash stb with the official software using the download tool
    5) fix stb back onto ones tv with all the cables connected and go into install menu
    6) do an automatic scan and stb will come back with all 47 frequency's and all the channels and radio stations it will find 7) After full scanning is complete with the press exit message come out of said window and go back into stb main menu 8) scroll down to user preference menu and then go to sat/tp edit a couple of times until a network list appears in sat/tp edit window
    9) select n*l which it should be on and with the stb remote press the right hand sided arrow
    10) take a note (pen and paper) on the list of channel numbers 1-55 scrolling down said list of the two main SR & QAM Numbers (all areas in the UK are different) and on the said channel list from 1-55 take a note where said SR & QAM numbers have been changed 11) use back button on said stb remote to come out of said window and then scroll down (down arrow) to delete all channels 12) after all channels have been deleted use back button to come out of user preference menu and back into the main menu 13) scroll up (up arrow) to installation menu and in this window reset the stb back to factory default 14) disconnect stb from tv once factory default is complete and re-flash stb with download tool using the Nov 2012 firmware 15) re-connect the stb back to the tv all cables and router on each occasion and then go to main menu 16) In main menu go to installation option and do an automatic scan 17) @ This point my box normally comes back with 1-8 but it also comes back with the new frequency's 18) after that's complete press exit and then go back into the stb main menu 19) scroll down to user preference then select (ok) then in said window one might need to go too sat/tp a couple of times until the (more than one) network list appears 20) one list appears select n*l (top of the list) and with the right arrow pressed on the stb remote a list of 1-8 will appear change said SR & QAM numbers on said list to the main/common SR & QAM numbers from the piece of paper one has written down before hand (remember?) from the official software list 20) by using the stb remote one can type in the SR number then right arrow over to the QAM number where one can use the up and down arrows on the stb remote to select the specific number from the piece of paper for the QAM List and then press ok on the stb to save changes one line @ a time 21) after said list has all been changed SR & QAM numbers press back button to come out of said window 22) scroll up to installation option and select automatic scan 23) in said auto scan you will notice said search line drops down one space this part of the scan can take up to 5-10 minutes and patience is the key after that it will instruct you to press 'okay' which moves into another window where more scanning goes on with messages appearing on the screen saying 'please wait' and 'already exists' don't worry that's normal procedure 24) after another 5 - 10 minutes one will notice 47 new frequency numbers appearing and then the stb moves into adding new tv and radio channels 25) once full scanning is complete the word exit will appear with said scan finished as mentioned before my stb normally comes back with 470+ tv channels and 37 radio stations in the 1-55 frequency search list once exit message has appeared in said window then my stb sometimes goes to either BBC or another station and I normally use the green button to select a channels category for example Li*estyle and with the up and down buttons directly below the exit button on the stb remote & I pick a channel from said category & wait a couple of minutes then said stb comes onto viewing mode 27) last but not least the stb then sometimes goes into channel freeze mode like no video/scrambled
message and the reason being is because the server is not taken into account or there is not a f*rmware out there that changes the stb frequency regularly @ least once a week in other words the tp has to be manually edited by ourselves and if we are not all singing from the same hymn sheet as regards to this ongoing matter then we will all have the same problem
for the foreseeable future and that's a fact
Working...
