    New owner quick question

OK guys having spent over 10 years with Sat TV thought I would have a play with the A750 receiver I got last week on my CCTV.

Everything seems OK but for something strange reason I can't scan in ITV and CH4

Tried everything I can think off and done lots of reading but still no joy, they work on my sub receiver.

Does anyone know what transponder they are on in the network id 40968 are ( Preston 2 ) ex TW ?

Finally what firmware should my box be on and do I need to update the i connector ?

    Thanks

Thanks mate box is now running latest software but I'm still missing ITV and CH4

No splitters in place and nice strong signal, on the DT4000 they both work and Network ID is correct.

I can only guess the freq they are on is not being scanned.

are you 100% sure you know your correct net id as that can only be got off a providers box, unaware if others have it or not.

Yeah its 40968. I use to be into the cable scene a loing time ago when it was N1 and one number that sticks in my head is 40968 ...

I've just had a quick look on my DT4000 and its still showing 40968.

          I have tried 40965,40966 and 40967 too.

Now the funny thing is I cancelled my TV sub over six months ago because I only had it for the iplayers, took the box away and put it in the shed. Any way plugged in to day and got err11 on the front. Weird I thought err11 means can't lock on to freq. So did the old 2321 trick and box got a lock and booted.
          SNR is 35.1db

Not to sure where to go from here now.

              Sorry for late reply.
              It says 58 tps
Channels always come in at 440

need someone local to see if they are getting them on their providers box and check the netid on that, unsure if box can update since you left them over 6 months ago and may be stuck on old netid.

OK I called round to next door and checked the guys Tivo box and it is Net ID 40968.

One thing I did notice on his box his signal was 40db where on mine 4000 it was 32db.

I did google missing ITV and CH4 on Kryptview and got a few answers, it would appear I am not the only one missing these two channels in this area, the Knowsley and Preston areas the signal is very weak on these two channels and the Kryptview having a poor tuner can not pick them up.

I know I do .. but I'm one of those people who like things to be perfect. I don't like to be beat when I know a fix is out there.

The cables are fine, I use to install sat systems and all round my house I have CT125. I took the kryptview straight to wall where the feed is any way and tried it there but it made no difference.
Some where I have DVB-C tuner for a ipbox9000 receiver I have, I'm going to scan 40968 some point over the next week and see if that picks it up.
I did have a dreambox 500 -c but threw it away last year !
I'll let you know how it goes.

OK update - Thought I would do it tonight while I have the time. The ipbox 9000 using a DVB-C tuner picked up ITV and CH4 no problem. 100% signal quality with no amp connected.

                        They are both on 419.000 06952 256QAM

So on the kryptview I went to manual scan and select the above and guess what no signal quality, have strength but no quality. Those of you who don't know quality is the important one give it Sat or CATV.
Every now and then there was a little flicker then went to 29% quality but then went quickly back down.

So conclusion is the tuner in the A750 is very poor, I don't know if the 780 is any better or the 850.

Just thought I would post back, I got my hands on a A790t today and tested it and ITV and CH4 came in. Its very weak and had the odd pixal. I've added a 6db forward path attenuator and it has seem to settle down.
Still no joy with the A750 on ITV/CH4 not a sniff.

                            Tuner is the most likely.

Dont forget the 750 is one of the older boxes and the hong kong tiawan go wong tuners have a habit of deteriorating over time.
