Help please people

Hello people I'm really stuck my box has gone off and when I do a S/W update it gets stuck at 100% I know why this is happening because I need to do a update through my laptop but I haven't got a clue how to do that. Could someone please help me by telling me how to go about this and do I have to buy any sort of wire to connect the box to my laptop? please help please be gentle

a good place to start and read it carefully,pity you cant find someone with an old pc and has a serial port same as on the rear of kv.

Turn box on & off wile s/w updating then try after a couple, Wrked for me

i've got a old laptop I can borrow. Does it explain everything what I have to do on that link? I can't break the box if I do it wrong can I?
