aye correct thats the point of scanning on a direct feed as you have no splitters or extensions or attenuators or boosters but people forget about them and have problems

Hey all, most HD movie channels are down here (Watford area), SD are working. Sports are working both SD and HD but it seems like they are coming and going lately. Also I am not on the latest firmware as my supplier seems to have fallen off the edge of the planet and my box won't update over the Internet so I can't say for sure that the firmware update wouldn't help.

My box is still on 1.01.06 but as mentioned I have been unable to contact my supplier to get any new files, I'm just gonna have to wait till the firmwares become public and update then I guess.

HD channels are now back on, seems to be intermittent issue, although I am on a superhub so I have ordered a netgear router to see if that helps any current glitter and scrambled channel problems. I am also interested in this hardware mod that was posted, I look forward to hearing if anyone has had success with this mod.

just like to confirm that the hardware mod has been 100% successful in correcting the issue which it is intented to fix am sure wellinever can confirm seen as i modified his box. it will not however correct and prevent issues with the server or automatically resolve the reconfiguration required when VM add new TPs or move channels around and general cabling or spliiter issues.

The fix allows a more unified stream and fixs noise issues that are experienced on a number of channels, once modified attenuators and boosters etc can all be removed and so far everyone that i have repaired has been 100% effective in resolving the previous faults.

this is a modification to the PSU board which in turn correct the tuner operations voltage.

I can confirm basically what Barry has said above. The mod allows me to watch channels without an attenuator which previously would not have been possible (SS4 and ITV4 for example).

I think it is important however to stress that this is not a be all and end all fix for problems you may be having. I still have many channels missing and glitching on many HD channels, although I think this is more to do with transponder and channel movement in my particular area.

It would be useful however to hear if people have lost any HD channels in their area.
