few questions has his box had the mod done,old or new box what firmware is on it and superhub and number of splitters in use?

I know he as the new virgin superhub as 1 splitter 3way going into hub and both boxes
And he does a software update each time I tell him it needs s/w update.

I went from Starview 3 wich I had for time to Sv 4 then to Sv 6 that went down went krypt780 that went down
Sv 6 came back with a ?25 sub garbage
Kv came back, but not as stable as it was, then so many ppl saying sly
I got dm500, then fbox3, then dreambox 800, I now have dm800se with hdd installed love it, but I have kv780 in bedroom hardly use it, but its on standby for the sad rumour of sly.

does he do a factory reset/rescan from main feed when the update has been done?
yes new superhub is good,has he tried another another better lan cable?
as you know its a process of ruling out things

Not even sure if he factory resets & scans after the s/w update, I know he doesn't do from direct feed,
Wich I don't myself with being upstairs I think mine works fine as it is, sky 1 and the odd channel glitch freeze but I've read it happens on all kryptview boxes
And not as stable as they once was, before they went down for a few weeks
I will pass message on and tell him to factory reset after s/w

if people dont do what they are told to do as in follow the guides you will get problems.

well why I asked u did u have one which u admit u don't, is because ur recommending kv HD where as I think @ the moment the kv 780 is far less problematic

the 780 probably has gone as far as it can,as the 850 is new it should be able to get it better.

As I said earlier my m8 is taking is 850 out & bringing down the 780 As 850 is unwatchable, and I no with aving a krypt myself it made no difference direct feed or not, I've tried both ways direct & split, same result, exact.
So I personally don't think that matters at all, as its getting took out and going back into the splitter anyway.

i have read that the 750 has now finnished this in itself is sure to improve things if a lot of forum users didnt moan when a few channels like qvc itv plus 1 and a few other channels that are classed as freeview on sat or via aerial then maybe the better channels ie sport movies etc would be working a lot more stable..
if i had the choice of a kv that glitches quite a lot and clears all the channels or a kv that runs stable but say only clears sports movies asian and documentry then i would go for the more stable one

what u mean by direct feed or splitter

if you have splitters and extensions fitted and scan through all that you will have a weaker signal,direct feed means the main coaxial feed before the splitter that sends one way for tv and other way for bb.

who has a working 850 in litchfield can they check their channel data so people can try doing a scan on that info.
