    Kryptview Alternative?

    Hi all,
Had my KV750 for a couple of yrs now, (thanks to all the help from this site).

Yeah, I know it's all over for it.
But is it really worth going down the 780 route?
From what I've read it's rapidly following the same path as the 750.

Thing is, are there any do-able alternatives?, without taking a degree course in linux programming etc.
Is it worth looking at a dreambox for instance?
Or I should I just fork out for a motorized dish, and have done with it.
    Any suggestions appreciated.

do plenty of reading up on all those problems awaiting you on a skybox, think i would rate the kv780 better working than a skyboxbut there are cones and genuine ones?.

Trouble with Kryptview receivers is that they are p*ss poor. Made on the cheap. So many come with poor tuners and need fixing. How many times do you a post on here about people complaining about glitching.

I have been around a very very long time on both cable and sat.

Sat UK is in trouble, the days are numbered regarding movies and sport due to pairing system, I get emails and letters every month from sly telling me I must contact them for a new receiver. The good news is it would appear all the other channels are OK for now.
Don't forget you have 100's of foreign channels that also broadcast in English.

The Kryptview guys are running a huge c/s server which I can only guess is not UK based, I am really surprised it has not been busted yet. Lets not forget they caught the 3 guys running the SV server.

If you are really lucky ( like me ) you may find some running a 1841 card under linux and get to join using a Linux HD receiver.

So my friend I would say get yourself a motorized dish, put it up yourself its not that hard and enjoy. If you had done it 5 years ago you would have really enjoyed it due to most providers being wide open.
