    Newbie with a few questions

    Hi,

Its been a while since ive had a kryptview box.

I had the older ones years ago until all the boxes went down.

So im looking to see what the best box out there at the moment is.

From what ive read i need an internet connection for the box to work?

I dont have a satellite dish just standard cable package.

Does anyone have any links or info they can give me?

    PM if you would like.

    Thanks

      Hi thanks for the reply,

I saw that these two boxes are the one of choice at the moment.

Im based in Ireland, with a basic cable package at the moment.

Is there anything else i would require to get the box up and going?

Any indication on what channels are currently available?

And last one is where is the best place to pick one up?

      Thanks

Boxes are plug and play, remember it is a pure gamble you could spend ?250 on a HD box and next week it goes off or you could spend ?250 and it will last for years to come.
For me its too risky, it wouldn't be too bad if we knew somewhere to go to check Kryptview status and see what the future holds but we don't.

buy the a780 its ?150 delivered. you plug the power in, plug an Ethernet cable in and connect it to the internet, then plug it into your cable feed. the set up is quite easy and you get mot channels. feel free to ask me any questions

            Thanks for the replies,

I understand the risks with them, that they could go at any time.

Does it matter what cable provider i have at the moment? or what package i have?

And where is the best place to pick one up?

            Thanks again

Im with U |*C at the moment.

Can any box be upgraded with the required software or does there need to be a modification done to the box first?

Ill have a look on Fleabay and see what there is out there.

                Thanks

They're easy to update, guides are on here. Some come with stock software that needs a lead and some pre-loaded.

If money allows, go with the a850. Better box all round, quicker, less glitchy, 2 tuners so can record and watch, 7 day tv guide etc.

                  Check g.um.tree too
