    A780 Problems

    Hi All,

Having setup problems with my A780. I have tried everything to set this box up but nothing is working.

Ive followed the youtube guides, and also had a 700c box so i'm no stranger to these, but ive tried all versions of A780 firmware even the FTA firmware, and i'm getting no channels.

When scanning for channels, I only get 8 TP's found, and no channels at all. I've ruled out problems with my cable by taking it round a friends house who has a valid Virgin subscription and still nothing. I disconnected the Virgin cable from the back of the Virgin box, straight into the back of the Kryptview, and still nothing.

Interestingly, even when i try scanning with no cable connected at all, the box still finds 8 TP's! How is this even possible?

I've tried numerous factory resets, deleted the TP's from the box and re-scanned for them, I've tried the box round other peoples houses to rule out cable problems, and still nothing.

Box is currently loaded with the latest firmware and nothing. Currently left with a big expensive door stop!

Anyone have any suggestions before I bin it?!

    Cheers

Ethernet mate, but still nothing. I've tried scanning with it plugged in, and unplugged.

Still no option to select any area ID's. It just goes straight to searching for channels and then failed.

          Yes All flashed correctly.

Currently sat round my friends with the box connected to the virgin line, but still nothing I can connect the cable straight back to the virgin box and watch cable tv, but no look with the kryptview.

latest firmware and latest software updates and it should be ok.probably something simple.i mean i went round to a friends to look at his box and he had the cable plugged into the loop out.
then again it could be a duff box.but i`d keep trying

Make sure you select network before you scan. If you don't then it will miss out the network id scan and this is what is happening to you.

Thanks for the replies folks. Box was flashed all the way to download success. I have tried a combination of flashing using old firmware, then updating to the latest firmware via the online update on the box, and ive tried flashing the box straight with the newest firmwire.

I'm using a laptop with USB adapter, plugged into the null modem cable, which is then plugged into the back of the box. Seems to flash ok and comes up with download success.

I purchased the box brand new from Lincsat. I have emailed him but he says the box was tested before posting, and it worked fine, and I appear to be having signal issues but can't shed any light on things apart from that

Right, just been to work and sucessfully flashed the box from a proper pc with null modem cable. Plugged it into virgin cable connection, factory reset and rescan done, and still nothing

                          Any more suggestions?

Cable is inserted into the RF in port using the supplied adapter that you screw the virgin cable onto.
I flashed the box with the 26/05/13 firmware. That didn't work, so I updated the box via lan to 17/06/13

                              That hasn't worked either

Still not even getting FTA channels or anything so i cant sell it on because I don't even know if it works or not.

Been trying everything for 3 days now My 700c that i had a few years back took 5 mins to get working
