A780 Problems

if you no someone with a kv box do a channel transer from box to box.
of course theres a chance it is faulty box even with it been brand new.
if its faulty and you do a box to box channels transer the channels will be listed but will say no signal

and forget any advice regarding internet ethernet cable etc you dont even need the ethernet cable plugged into the box to tune the channels inn
you only need the internet to clear the channels

I don't know of anyone in the area with one of these boxes so i have emailed ian from lincsat again to ask him if he can test it again for me, as i'm totally out of options.

Are you deffo selecting the right cable provider and network id before you scan ?

I'm selecting NTL, which is correct, but I don't get chance to select any networks or ID's, it just comes up with the 8 TP's then scans through the 8 TPs for channels and fails. No chance to select area's or network ID's

Im in stafford if thats any help.

as i said before try others, ex c&w,chorus,telewest. you have to rule out that the tuner is gone by scanning others.things change all the time and when trying something different it may work.

Cactikid - is there any chance if I sent my box to you, that you could test it for me? That way I would know if its a problem with me / my setup, or a duff box.

nope we dont have working cable boxes in ireland,god how i miss the fun ,you have more or less done everything possible even flashing with null modem cable and firmware,scanned in different locations and all providers,if you need to send back to supplier factory default and use this.

Thanks mate. I have emailed ian at lincsat about returning it. He did say it worked when he sent it out so heaven knows whats happening

are you sure your pressing green after selecting ntl and waiting for the area selection.

Yes, green button for sure. No option for area selection. It finds the 8 programmed tp's the goes straight to channel scanning where nothing is found.

This has been happening a lot after people do a factory reset, and the way to get the area choice is keep doing a factory reset, have patience it may take a lot of resets.

Don't you already have an F type screw connector on the end of the cable? What adapter are you using?

yeah id agree with lac keep trying reset after reset and see if it works.

Using the adapter that came with the box. It goes into the RF in port then the virgin cable screws onto the end of the adaptef.

Its gone back to Ian at Lincsat now for testing anyway I will update when I have heard from ian.
