    a850 still down?

    Hi guys,

I'm in the Brighton area (20) and my a850 has been off for some time, I came on here some weeks back and found that it has been up and down lately, but now I see people are saying they are back on?! Only getting FTA channels.

I have tried everything, resetting and replugging everything, factory reset, delete channels, software updated to latest.

I can scan an acquire all the channels (on TW I believe) as before and even get the 7 day EPG. Correct me if I'm wrong but you need the LAN to get the EPG working? Never shows up if I have a problem with the connection.

During the 'down time' a few weeks ago I scanned and got nothing, but at least it finds the channels now which I assumed was a good sign!

I've swapped out the ethernet cable, and checked it works on my laptop, and both ends of the RJ45 are fashing so it must be sending and receiving.

I've even demilitarized the IP on my router in case it was getting blocked through there. Getting a bit desperate, I know.

Hoping someone knows something about the area or a little trick to get her up and running again in time for the new PL season!

    Cheers in advance!

Have you got the latest firmware? also have you checked if your area is getting upgraded (for a couple of days KV goes down as vergem upgrade their speeds)

@cactikid, thanks for the reply, sorry my post was long but I did state that I had done this and it is flashing!

@agent4bellies, as above, I did state I did have latest firmware and my area has already been upgraded but nice thought train there, I did have some problems with my whole VM package about 2 or 3 weeks before it all cut off

have you tried scanning other providers after you factory reset/rescan or do you have a vm box to get your net id from.

Yes, tried them all, pretty sure I'm on the Bromley network which is 41xxx and my bill area code is 20 so I assume it's something like 41020 - I may be able to check later on?

What are the results likely to be if I force it to change netid? not even sure what the 2nd nearest to me is, as long as it's on the same network?

Ahh, maybe you're onto something cactikid - my area says 20 which based on my logic above is 41020 which is Crawley, which it could be.
I was told by the VM tech that Brighton was my network which is 41044 which is on the Bromley network, but 41020 is on the Knowsley network.

However, it's been working for years on the Brighton netid.

Cactikid, I apologise I am not on the latest firmware, I was mis-advised that 1.05 is the latest, where on here I see talk of 1.06 and 1.07

Can you pm me the latest one please :-) I don't know if this is all the problem but I would be very grateful!! :-)

                Net id is 41044
