    Kryptview Phoenix A850 HD Box

    Hi boys......

Av not been on here since the early starview days. What a great era that was. Then came the hated nag 3 and killed it...

I have just been browesing and come across the

    Kryptview Phoenix A850 HD.

Is this just as simple as buying it. (Even though quite pricey) plugging it in the same way as past starview, and cha ting, tele worth watching again. Or is it more complex than that.

    Nice one

same idea but boxes now need a lan connection as an extra so a coaxial feed for scanning and lan for opening, boxes are fta and need flashing by usb, file in downloads.

I'm not to bothered about having hd to be honest. More sports really. I have seen a few of them boxes on ebay going a lot cheaper than the hd version.

If I was to buy one, is it just as simple as plugging it in and away you go?

            Cheers deano

make sure it says 780 and not a 750 doorstop,it depends on what firmware is on box.

What you mean by vm to scan on??

I only have EE broadband so does that mean the box wont work for me??

He means you need a Virgin media cable feed to scan and get the channels from.

Basically the set up is the same as the starview with the addition of a lan cable which is connected to your Broaband router, which doesnt have to be VM.

Cheers for all the help guys. I feel I have a better understanding now. I am most certainly ordering the box. Just one more thing though. Are the new kryptviews untraceable like the old starviews. In the way that the old ones never bounced the signal back or somet.

                          Thanks again

Just be wary. The 780glitches like f**k on a lot of channels and is unwatchable. It freezes or pops and even with decent attenuation it still does it.

Oh right. Is there any other simple boxes other than kryptview that you recommend then, the dont freeze etc.
