Tamworth Litchfield area update.

how very strange as of only a few weeks ago the only channels now using s symbol rate of 6.887 in my area anyway are.
1..pin protection help
2..itv hd
3..on demand preview
4..bbc1 hd
5..vtv music on demand
6..virgin movies preview
isnt it strange none of these work and after doing a factory reset your box is only seeing 6.887...
it was only a few weeks ago bbc1 2 itv ch 4 cha5 were using 6.887..
i bet this was the time you factory reset and it no longer worked because nothing valid is using that 6.887 anymore
but what i cannot understand is why its only one area and it registers 6.887 without signal connected maybe thats why the 850 isnt effected as it clears bbc1 hd and itvhd

My betting is these 8tps are embedded in the firmware and kv team give a range of frequency that always worked amd contains channels. It only needsto see one channel and I feel I latches onto the litLitchfield server and tjen recognises.
My feeling is next firmware release will see extra tps in the list for the tuner to go and interrogate.
Including symbol rate and modulation rates.
This is how Im starting to view whats happening. Vermin have moved channels away from these older ranges for legit reasons and the box is not being automatically told to go and search the newer ranges.
Seems an easy fix tbh for kv team.
If it finds 8tps without a coaxial connection. ..theyve gotta be fw embedded?

yes mate the legit reasons are the fact that more channels are now transmitted in hd and hd has a lot more content hence the change in qam rate from 64 to 256..
and any errors on a qam rate of 64 can be corrected were on a qam bit rate of 256 is not as easy to correct hence the tuner needs to be more sensitive when dealing with the higher qam rate.
these changes to my knowledge have only been happening this year and its these changes that finnished the 790t and also is when the phoenix 850 mod was needed again more effective in certain areas

anyway the main thing is its working and been confirmed by another forum user.
there would have been people saying its the provider stopping this and is going to spread to other ares and also some people would have said its on purpose by kv to get people to buy the 850...all sorts of rumours could have started.
hope this all explains its more to do with technology changing

I know a lot of people are apprehensive about messing with their boxes for fear of bricking them but it just goes to show what can be achieved.

it was just finding that needle in haystack as you were the only ones who could get it ,glad to see someone had the balls to start testing new info and found it,you see some are brainier and have an idea what to do,i feel you did your area proud and it goes to show what the members can do if pushed.

To be honest. This forum is the best for this sort of thing and the people here are great friends.
Ive taken info from here for my old eurovox and the evolution including fw downloads and im grateful just to give something back thats meaningful.
I dont come here that often but its my first port of call.
I certainly wasn't worried about bricking it as I didnt feel at anytime that would happen.
Im sure this will spread to other areas and with the kv team now in a good position to support us 780s for the future. It made sense to try and give some help from the field.
Loved my 5100 eurovox and love the evolution as much.
I wont come on again moaning about glitching either and slagging it. When you lose it..you realise how much it means to you .
Incidently..its all history now but it is much better and I do think the factory reset has made a massive difference to glitching which is much less.
It is maybe the different frequencys?

nearly got rid of kv box for good.

I just want to say a big thank you to Monkeyb0yuk for this, I am from Stafford, near litchfield and it is working.
I had a massive problem with my box months ago, where I updated it, and when you go to scan the network, it comes up with the 8tp's all exist, it does not let you select litchfield.
I added all the information from Monkeyb0yuk and i clicked on the network scan, and like magic it comes up for me to select litchfield, it comes up with 57 TP and the signal is up and running scanning for programmes
Its complete now, however all the FTA channels do indeed work, i can not get any of the subs channels working such as the sports or anything, still comes up as scrambled or no vid.
Anymore information would be great, as i must have missed something maybe?
