Once I got the software opened , it was quick and simple, many thanks. Tho it does go down rather often for 10 secs or so? Im using homeplugs so not sure why this should be......tho when my land line rings it also goes down, maybe a filter prob?

      Thanks in advance

Hi again. Sorry I haven't been back on to thank everyone for the advice in getting my box sorted. Been away, and had to leave it over christmas, but it's still not solving my problem. All the advice makes good sense, but ultimately it seems floored by the fact that it won't accept the firmware upgrade! All I ever get is 'The downloading is not requested' message. Is it possible that I have a faulty box? Or am I just missing something when I'm trying to do the upgarde? Any advice would be very gratefully recieved. Thanks

maybe just do a s/w update on the net with remote no messing with cables, just your remote.

if the box has been working just do a s/w update over the internet
and reset/and rescan, all done on remote.

Thanks Cactikid, but the problem with that is, my box won't let me upgrade online (yet). I'm told it will need the initial firmware load before it will let me. It certainly doesn't give me the option at the moment. :-(

But therein lies my problem. It won't let me upload the new firmware. All I ever get is the 'The downloading is not requested' message. Can't get past that! Any advice?

I'm sure I've tried that, but will give it another go. Should the box be factory reset too before doing this? Thanks
