first time flashing this box changes it from a terrestrial box to a cable box.

            firmware is now in downloads

if file is in rar format it needs extracting first by a program called winrar also in downloads under pc,copy the file to usb as per instructions underneath.[/COLOR]
and no it does not come with the box.

            flashing the box

            Please follow the instructions below

            (1) Format a usb pen drive to FAT32 on your PC first

            (2) Then get the file you have downloaded and copy it across to the usb then

            (3) Turn the box off at the back and put the USB into the front of the box

            (4) Then turn the power back on to the box when the box powers up go to the menu and select Software upgrade press ok

            (5) Then allow the box to reboot, after that you will see the cable scan option just scan as with the older box

Ps if you see on screen usb initializing all the time your USB pen has not been formatted to Fat 32

Phoenix HD A850 Cable box - YouTube

GUYS WHEN SCANNING FOR CHANNELS YOU MIGHT NEED TO SCAN ON ALL OF THE PROVIDERS MAKING SURE YOU FACTORY DEFAULT THE BOX EACH TIME, SO IF NO CHANNELS ON SCAN ON N*l SCAN ON EXCW, THEN TW, AREAS HAVE CHANGED OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS AND AREAS HAVE BEEN CHANGED

use a hdmi cable instead of scart and not both to tv.

best to scan your box from main coaxial feed no splitters or though extensions.
connect the coaxial cable with the adapter supplied if needed to input
have your lan cable ready but not plugged in yet
plug in and power on box
as there is limited info around of unsure if settings need to be adjusted
installation choose auto not all to scan or is it scan networks instead of all.
that should bring up provider to scan on and to pick up net ids.
getting no net ids would suggest wrong provider, change provider,
always factory default/reset box before scanning and this does not affect firmware.
when your channels have finished and loaded connect lan cable.
also when needed a reboot is powering off box modem and router for 30 secs then on
