Trouble installing USB adaptor

Hi
I have read the tutorial and followed the instructions but I cannot install my USB adaptor. The add new hardware cannot find the setup file, even though I have a disc. The device appears under "Other Ports" on the device manager screen with a yellow question mark. I cannot see how you can change the port as there is no advance button or any way to access the port. It says it is in location 0, but no Com port mentioned anywhere.
I have the null cable going into the Kryptview A750 and the USB adaptor connected to this and into a USB port on the PC. If I try running the Kryptview software it cannot find COM 1.
I am running Windows XP.
Please help as this is driving me mad now.

is this a desktop or laptop? if desktop remove the usb adapter and flash with just null cable

Thanks for the reply. I have managed to install it by using the Maplins link provided. My next problem is that the STB Editor is reporting "the downloading is not requested". I will have a search for this on the forum. Thanks.
