    pixelated

hi guys i am looking for advice. i had a power surge over an hour ago which was just a flicker but when my kv a780 came back on everything on it picture, menu screen ect is pixelated. i have tried turning it off and on unpluging everything and a factory reset but its still the same. i have had surges before and this has never happened. can anyone shed some light on this for me or tell me how i may fix it. many thanks in advance.

not using protection at all it possibly damaged something in box, have you checked scart cable inserted? if you had surges before why did you not take precautions and it will happen again.

thanks for the reply cacti. i have got so much stuff plugged round the back of my t.v a never even thought about a protection device. as for the scart i will have to check. the scart runs out the k.v into a scart to hdmi converter then the hdmi runs from a splitter into the tv. i will try runing it raw from scart into the tv to see if this will help. is it possible the box may be damaged then if its just pixelating. sound is fine and there is no freezing i just hope its not.

put scart in tv raw and picture is fine. phew. must be the hdmi convertor or splitter. thanks for your reply or i would of probs not of thought of doing that.I knew the scart would be probs ok as its a big heavy duty hitatchi one. can you suggest a protective device for me to plug my extension cord into so this will not happen again mate.

this is what i use on my stuff as all doors are shut if done correctly.

Buy Monster High Definition HDP 850G PowerCenter online at John Lewis

all sat cables enter and exit, aerial on roof enter and exit, lan cable enter and exit and with green power all amps/speakers,blu ray,not needing power are switched off and reduces your room of red and green eyes glowing using power when not needed.when tv is switched on they go live ready for operation and finally it cleans the dirty power you get into a stable feed that does not destroy home electronics.
bonus feature it has a homeplug ready port as most extensions dont allow it to work.
