    A850 only hd channels glitching

Hi all, I've got a a850 with an attenuator connected to it, no mod. You see the problem is that all sd channels are fine and very rarely, if ever glitch. However on channels such as ss1 hd and ss2 hd there seems to be this patterned glitching. I'm in manchester 2, does anyone know what the problem is or would it just be the mod.

I get this too, think its a common issue with the a850 as seen it discussed a lot. Properly nowt can be done.

I have the mod and my box behaves in a similar way. SD channels in the main spot on. Sky Sports 1 HD does glitch but sometimes its absolutely perfect. Sky Sports 2 HD however is almost always perfect as is the likes of BT Sports 1 HD.

I have noticed since all of the channels came back that my HD movies are a bit up and down compared to before.

I would only be guessing at what was causing it.

I've had the mod done, as just got box last month. Nearly all HD channels glitch that I've viewed anyway, even the fta. Shame as I paid the extra ?100 to get these.

Late at night when I view them they seem better maybe as less people have the boxes on. Think this issue will always be there at least for a long time anyway.

fta should not glitch,i suggest get your cabling looked at as the signal is provider not kv.

For info none of the HD channels on KV are FTA, even BBC 1 and 2 HD. You can tell as the little dollar sign on the info bar is shaded blue, and they won't work when the lan is removed.

This might mean that it's not the box itself but could be your cabling that is causing the problem, or as you say something server related.

One of the real drawbacks with the a850 is how hard it is to troubleshoot problems. There seems to be very little feedback on forums and with the secrecy surrounding what the mod actually involves it's a bit of a guessing game!

The only thing that ever worked for me, and ive tried everything from new cables to konig boosters, was using an attenuator and when the mod came about it resolved the problems with lower frequency channels.

Do you notice any difference with channels on high or low frequencies?

another important factor are you on correct net id 100% sure and how is box connected to lan.
ss1 and 2 always had problems.

The best advice I would give anyone when posting about any problems is to mention what area (net id) they are in. If you can find someone in the same area who has the same issues as you then you can immediately discount your own setup as being the problem. If that's the case then there is absolutely nothing you can do.

Watched some HD channels last night mate glitched every 15 mins so not that bad. Sports is the worst but that's a common fault with the box. I use ct100 cable and Ethernet cable to router.

Talking about ned id's, anybody know the correct one for south lanarkshire?

need to get off a providers box in your area to be 100% correct.

I'm almost positive that it's Uddingston 40984, which funnily enough is the same net id as mine (north lanarkshire). I got this from my old vermin box.

I do vaguely remember an old post about some people in Hamilton having to use another net id but I can't remember which one!

                          Yeah I use TW 40984 619000

Might be good to have a sticky post with all the net ids for different areas.

there was one but things are changing all the time providers and net ids moving and only way if from providers box near you.
