I think it's the opposite of a booster which you need, a variable attenuator. There's also someone on ebay who offers a permanent fix for about ?30. Does anyone know what this fix involves and if it's doable at home?

first of all how old is box as first models needed a variable attenuator to reduce signal and when problem was found it was done at source,not a home fix but query the setup you have first,correct netid and how is lan connected?

don't know model bu selected telewest id on box an lan is connct straight to hub 2 via Ethernet cable
If your box was purchased new then it won't need any mods.
HD channels have always been a hit and miss. I don't watch them anymore due to the glitching.
Sometimes they can glitch a lot, sometimes a couple of times an hr. think it's the same for everybody.
