i have had an a780 for quite some time, seems ok most of the time, but sky sports news has been down for at least the last year, is this normal?

Nop not normal at all.... ssnhq is working fine bud. U might need to reset n restart it all up.

I would just try a rescan factory resets of recent lose netid`s.

if he lost his net id get it off a vm box to be 100% in scanning correct net id.
