A780 Download fail

    A780 Download fail

    Hi all,

    Been trying to flash box with new firmware for last 3 hours. Can get anywhere between 0% and the max was 66% then "download fail" message. I am using a null modem cable with usb adapter. Have a feeling it's something to do with the cabling?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

      It's not really a technical forum if no one replies to your technical questions? Asked the same question on Techwatch and cactikid managed to reply there?

          It's a forum where your queries are answered in a polite manner by members during their "free" time. BTW the member that answered you there is also a member here.

          Partaking in a forum which you joined six years ago may also help from time to time. The question you asked was easily answered if you used our search function, as it has been answered numerous times.

              like pcs the kv 780 are getting past it needing a null modem cable and direct input into a serial/rs232 port to work.
              adding usb adapters brings more issues with drivers and working is not always 100%.
              old pc or laptops might have a serial port to use null modem.
              read the flashing guides as that has included usb adapters.

              another thing worth considering with crappy sd picture on 780 is a hd box that can use hd channels? worth pondering.

                  get yourself a rs232 pci or pci express card and plug it into your m/board they cost about ?4.99

                      anyone have a guide to uploading .cfg or .list to 780

                          that box would not have a clue what a cfg is ,null modem cable for flashing and remote for inputting only.
