is it possible to get the dw800 back to out of the box state so as to connect ordinary aerial cable and use as an ordinary stb so u can get bbc hd itv hd etc any help would be much appreciated as only gettin fta channels and it breaks my heart to flick through all them empty channel spaces

if all the channels are on n3 then no,if any are on n1 you will get them.

no, mate ,cable and aerial are 2 different types of broadcast...
leave it in the box.................

Its a real shame. So many people now have worthless boxes, what a waste. My KV A700 is just sitting in the loft all boxed up. I hope someone will crack N3 oneday, but i doubt it
