Unsure of how to re-scan on A780?

Hi there. i've had my a780 for nearly a month and its workin fine.

However it recently reset itself and i had to recan. the box is workin however i notice some channels are missing.

So in order to try and re-gain these channels i go to: Menu>Installation>Automatic search>start search.

however once started it does not give me a list of appropriate places to use to scan (e.g. birmingham TDM). It keeps showing TP numbers on the TP list but says e.g. "1 already exist...". it keeps doing this and i resort to switchin the box off and back on to watch tv again.

Any help on how i can re-scan would be appreciated

green button and select net id

First you need to factor reset the box to get the net id for your area.

Factory Reset
I always power off for 30 seconds
Then Auto Search
Select Provider
Then hit Green Button
Wait for all ID's to appear around 60
Select ID for your area
Hit OK

hi thanks for the reply. i tried doing that but i get the same problem with the numbers (on the TP list it says e.g. "1 already exist..." and keeps going up in numbers).

i don't know why it wont rescan?

It will rescan but just needs a few attempts to lock onto ID's

You may have to reset a few times.

Trust me it will work, thats why I power off after the reset then it usually works first time but not always.

Now you should make sure you have the latest software on the box. If not you can update it over the net.

Can i bump this and ask how to update over the net. I see the upgrade option in the menu list. Only reason i ask is becasue when it comes to upgrade my box again, im going to have to move alot of things in order to take the KVA780 up to my bedroom and flash it. If i can leave the box were it is and flash over the homeplugs then im way happy
