Tearing my hair out!

My kryptview A780 arrived today and i followed instructions to download firmware using a guy this site's information successfully and returned it to factory settings then did a scan, then nothing. Only get bbc 1,2,3,4 and itvs. I'm in the liverpool area and have tried scanning for Telewest with looking for network and tried a Liverpool one i can't remember the exact name of, knowsley 1 and 2 and nothing. It's extremely frustrating. Help! Thanks!

go into installation menu.
hit s/w update

then post back what it says on the screen....

have you got cable straight to box no splits and sever up and down today

if you look at the back of the box, you will see a small black patch,
this conceals a hidden ethernet port.
the box has to be conected to internet 24/7 to decypt the channels....
is it possible for you to run an ethernet cable from router to box?

Whoa whoa whoa! How do i even connect it to the internet with a wire? There is no ethernet port on the box and for the null cable i'd have to uproot my entire pc. Virgin cable goes direct to box yeah.

And no idea what you mean by sever up and down. I'm a novice (in case you hadn't guessed)

dont panic, its easy.
on the back of your box, look between the scart socket and the mains cable...
you will see a little black patch....
peel it off
you will see a hidden ethernet port....
if posssible run an ethernet cable between that and any spare port on your router..
