I used Windows Vista and the USB-Serial adapter (?2.99) from Amazon said only for Windows XP and below, but it worked. (If you are struggling with drivers, google: "PL-2303 32-Bit Vista Driver Installer")

Just make sure under the COMs port settings you set:
Baud rate to 115,200 from 9600
Change COM# from any # to either 1 or 2

      Good luck.
how do change the daud rate cant seem to fint it on port settings

I am no expert myself m8 but will try to help.

Once you have downloaded the driver save it to somewhere easy to find like desktop and unpack it.

        restart computer
        1. Plug in USB connector to USB port.
        2. The "Add New Hardware WIzard" should appear (if not, then you can open the wizard from the Control Panel)
        3. Click "Next"
        4. Select "Search for the best driver for your device"
        5. Click "Next"
        6. Windows will ask you to specify the location of the driver. Please select "Specify a location"
        7. Use "Browse" to find the driver in the file you unpacked and saved on the desktop or wherever the file is located on your hard drive
        8. Click "Next"
        9. You're done

          Start download program.
          Locate Bin file.
Click on start and at the same time start box.
Wait for the download to reach 100%.
Wait for the software burn into the box for a minute.
          Turn box off.
          Connect to cable feed.
          Turn box on.
          Do a factory reset.
Scan for channels (press green button), pick your area.

Sorry Shakins but I spent 2 days trying to install several different drivers but with no success.

I overcame it by getting one of these from a friend who only had it as it came with his alianware pc., all I know is it is a serial port and made by "FOXCONN" I dont know the technical term for it and have been looking around trying to find somewhere that sells them but no luck.

with one of these you dont need drivers as it is not run by windows just the power from the motherboard.

You could try one of these or one similar if you just cant get the USB adaptor to work.
