I was just after some info i have all the plus one channels ie dave alibi gold but the proper channels are scrambled. someone said it was a weak signal but when i had the old boxes they all worked i thought only the decription came through the net and the signal through the cable any ideas? And if it is the signal my booster doesnt help

                check all your connections downstairs.
ie cable feed into back of box..

or take your downstairs box upstairs and scan, see what channels you get.....

well you must have a bad connection on the cable from your splitter to your downstairs box.

scan the box upstairs so that it picks up all the channels, then move box downstairs see ifd it works...

If both boxes work OK, must be either signal or splitter, my setup is cable into 2 way splitter, from there feed KV box and 4 way splitter which provides Subbed box basic package, sons box upstairs which is not working SV2.
Tried origanally to connect just using 4 way splitter but couldnt watch some of the channels Sly Sports especially.
                        Alls OK now after change.

I'd bet its a cable or even splitter thats causing the loss.

Where it splits for your modem try switching the cables, if its still the same try switching the outputs of the splitter or a different splitter if you have one.

this is easy to work out.
forget the booster, you shouldnt need it.

on your splitter swop the outputs for upstairs and downstairs.

if problem moves to upstair box
                              then your splitter is faulty.

if problem stays on downstair box,
then your splitter is working and its the cable from splitter to downstair box that causing the problem...

                              do you follow

just as dw has pointed out in prevous post.
