Do i need to factory reset?

Might be a silly question this ,but once i have downloaded firmware to the a780 box for the first time,am i right in saying i then have to do a factory reset on the box, if i then do a factory reset wont this affect the firmware that i just downloaded?

factory reset wont effect your new firmware. shouldnt need to factory reset first time.
