    Black screen

Ok have a KVa780, flashed all fine. When connected to tv via scart it just shows a black screen. The tv turns channel automatically as if it wants to show a picture, but no picture is present. Just a black screen.

All leads are connected correctly afaik. First time I have ever seen this error/fault. What are peoples thoughts on this? Personally think its a scart issue as no output. Could it be something else?

if its a faulty scart or not in correct location you wont even get a menu on screen,is it powered off/on at back then you should see something and front panel movement with activity.

just to add if you have added lan connection after the scan reboot router and allow to get an ips.

It just says ON on the box mate. Nothing on screen whatsoever. What you mean correct location? This has just been connected, and just gets a black screen on tv.

If its stuck on ON on the lcd it looks like a corrupt flash.

Download the image again and reflash.

I dont know for certain mate, but I would guess so. It has to be a setup issue as no output on the screen.

double check with another fully wired scart lead and recheck where it is plugged into back of kv,if your tv has multiple inputs you will have to go through each to see if it is on another setting,av1.av2.av3 by usually pressing av control on tv remote.

Its not me that actually needs to check, am asking for someone else, but will certainly get that checked. Personally think its a scart based issue, either with lead not working, or wrong channel!

Hi. its my box we talking about.

Yeh have now tried two different scarts into different sockets and it is just the same. Also tried the seperate tv outputs and it is the same on those too. Have dbox2 still sat there and that still connects fine for what its worth.

Also when it is all connected up to the Lan there is no activity at all. There is no connection light on the router and no difference after restarting the router either.

There is also no activity at all through pressing any of the box front buttons or the remote. Just displaying "On" on the box display. Although I dont know if that is normal.

                    Thnx do appreciate any help.

First off did you load the correct firmware to the box ie the A780 and NOT the A750 which manual you actually get with the A780 for what reason they do that god only knows but this has caught a few people out so check what ya flashed the box with first.

I loaded the 780fw, not sure about sdook.

@Sdook, as I said, send it back, and I will replace if faulty, thats not an issue.

Problem solved! All it needed was the latest flash 9910 and it works fine. Just checked and all looked fine.

Just want to say Janobi has been a total star. Calm and totally supportive and cool with it. Thanx dude.
